SNITCHING Ochenta

So UEFA and the Gibraltar FA (GFA) and Betfair and all those entities set up by matchfixers to protect the integrity of sport by non-disclosure of rigged matches are all in agreement - the friendly international between Gibraltar and Liechtenstein was not fixed.

The GFA statement: "The GFA has taken note of rumours appearing in social media regarding the recent international friendly between Gibraltar and Liechtenstein, suggesting that there were odd decisions taken during the game by the match officials and an abnormally high volume of bets taken on the game.

"UEFA has now confirmed to the GFA that the match traded normally, meaning that no irregular betting patterns were identified. Furthermore, UEFA has clarified that the high betting turnover for the match can be explained as the match was played on a very quiet evening of football globally. Betfair has also confirmed to UEFA that it has no concerns over this match.

"There is therefore no substance to the social media rumours and both the GFA and UEFA are satisfied that no investigation is warranted."

Points:

1) Why were three Liechtenstein goals ruled out by Welsh referee Ryan Stewart, including a direct free kick where no discernible infringement occurred?

2) The betting turnover at Betfair was of a level to raise suspicions, being equivalent to a lower turnover Premier League game. Our South East Asian broker was running markets on 54 other games coincident with the Gibraltar match. In what possible view of reality is the betting turnover not suspicious?

3) Many South East Asian market makers knew about this fixed match in the very early market phases. This was an entirely planned matchfixing event. It was a standard poker play with bookmakers existing within the loop as operators and outside the loop as patsies.

4) Why did a substituted Gibraltar player feel the need to share a High Five with referee Stewart as he was substituted?

Of course, Betfair don't disclose suspicious matchfixing events even when £500,000 bets are laid by the company  http://footballisfixed.blogspot.co.uk/2015/10/mobgate.html  so why would they behave any differently on a fairly balanced book at suspicious volume?

But.
Who would have thought it?
A friendly between Gibraltar (where many European bookmakers reside) and Liechtenstein (where much offshore money resides) being fixed by South East Asian operatives (where footballing reality resides).
